Buildsmart - Review

Comments: Great experience, if they fix some bugs like and add some more features (one click voucher should open from report) to save the time.

Pros:

Very good budget control management, Project accounting is so easily monitored, ease in monthly closing, depreciation posting & WIPcalculations, Nice tool for cost allocation if you have manyr departments, activity wise project procurement control etc. uploading a huge journal data through excel sheet template

Cons:

Payroll module is a long hectic and not user friendly, unable to go directly to the voucher from a particular report, you have to type voucher num manually as the buildsmart does not have a feature to take you in one click, If an asset is added into fixed assets then again need to update/edit in master list.

Superb Software from RIB!!

Comments: Superb experience received from trainers and support.

Pros:

The way the software can drill down to contract and activity levels is astounding. The live system enables up to the minute reporting.

Cons:

The cashbook capturing is not as user friendly as a traditional accounting package, but still good for a cost accounting system. The park and post functions are well liked.

Not designed by accountants

Comments: Extremely painful. Would not use if I had a choice.

Pros:

Multiple contracts - relatively easy to set up and capture when its working.

Cons:

Stock module pedantic. Financial reports not standardized across financial periods.

Comments: WHEN I STARTED WORKING WITH BUILDSMART , I WAS THOUGHT THE BASICS WHIC I WAS STILL TRYING TO FIGURE OUT AND THEN THE COUNTRY WENT ON LOCK DOWN . I WAS WORKING FROM HOME AND WITH EXPERIENCE AN I LEARNT ALL THE PROS OF BUILDSMART . NOW I AM THE GO TO MAN IN MY COMANY WHEN THEY NEED SOMETHING . THANSK TO BUILS SMART REPORT FUNCTION .

Pros:

I LOVE THE FACT THAT THE REPORT FUNCTION - HELPS ME THE MOST. FROM SEEING WHAT PO'S ARE NEED TO BE RELEASED TO WHAT PO'S STILL WAITING FOR INVOICES. YOU CAN LOOK FOR AN ITEM YOUBOUGHT FIVE YEARS AGO AND BE ABLE TO SEE WHO SUPPLIED IT TO YOU AS WELL. I LIKETHE NOTIFIACTION OF APPORVER TO RELEASE PO'S

Cons:

NOTHING REALLY, VERY NICE PROGRAMME I WOULD RECOMEND THAT ALL IN THE FIELD I AM IN USE BUILDSMART

Journey to mastering buildsmart

Comments: I enjoy learning to do certain things on CCS and want to get to master navigating the system

Pros:

The convenience in getting the kind of report as a quantity surveyor at the quickest time and at ease.

Cons:

Some reports are not as easy to get, If there was an option to have video clips that explains some if the frequently asked questions without having to set up a meeting

Comments: Okay, but not as user friendly or as good as other accounting and payroll software.

Pros:

Some things are easy to use like debtors invoicing, bank reconciliations and journals.

Cons:

Changing of dates and periods. Not being able to drill down. Not being able to write reports. Not being able to edit transactions after posting. All the procedures for month end, year end, debtor, ledger, subcon, etc. Too many complicated procedures compared to other accounting systems. Payroll not half as good as other payroll software and requires much more programming.

Bad Experience

Comments: Very bad and disappointing. I will not recommend using this crap.

Pros:

Real time reporting, with tons of features which are sometime useless

Cons:

The support is not in line with the customer requirements.

Construction

Comments: a year ago it was better. now with the new updates there is alot of glitches that make it harder.

Pros:

Storage of Data and information. you can access it from any device.

Cons:

it keeps loging me out ! i cant stay on buildsmart the whole 50 minutes, every 5 minutes it kicks me out.

Build Smart Daily experience

Comments: Overall Usage of the Build smart is Very Useful & exiting , and still a recommendable Software

Pros:

it's Part from Daily Uses And Processes , Facilitating our Project Control Operations , Critical Dependance on this Platform Specially with the Integration with CANDY , it's the Good Place to Reach any of your Historical Data or records immediately

Cons:

more improvement Is still Expected to the Reports section , Specially while Exporting them to Excel , you May Suffer Alot to Renovate the Report to be in Presentable Shape !

Use of RIB BuildSmart

Comments: BuiltSmart is the perfect example of the modern use of technology. Having to track all payments, cost reports, procurement items, etc, makes life so easy when having to pull a report that will provide all the necessary information

Pros:

I enjoy the ease and access of the software without any hassles. I get to do my job quickly and efficiently with data being consistently saved. In the case of looking my device I am able to recover all the data.

Cons:

Not being able to undo certain actions that require an administrator.

Comments: RIB BuildSmart is user friendly and yet comprehensive software that one can use to manage finances of the projects and business overall. it is financial software that a recommend for construction businesses as it tailored for such type of businesses. The ability to report live information on the ground is absolute essential.

Pros:

One of the aspects I appreciate most about Build Smart is its ability to offer real-time financial updates for the project and the entire business. Its integration with CCS guarantees that data is more precise and reduces the frequency of irregularities that could compromise the accuracy of the data and the reliability of the reports.

Cons:

I have nothing much about the downside and believe with training you get better and faster in completing tasks. I must say at times the programme gets slow and it kicks you out and you need to login again and again.

It is construction specific so tailored to produce cost reports, planning and evaluation is made easy

Setup if you do not have dedicated time for that it takes time to understand the whole flowchart of processes

Comments: would highly recommend it to everyone because of its useful

the system is so easy to use it allows you to amend and correct your processing without having to restart the entire it. it also gives you a change to review and amend things.

Cons:

it requires one to input most data manually so it will be appreciated if the was a way to import data like you bank statement straight to the system.

Comments: Great, I would like some training to use the capitalize on what the program can offer.

Pros:

Flexibility. The fact that you can manage your whole operation with the click of a button.

Cons:

My limited knowledge of the program. Training is offer frequently which I must just utilize.

Comments: Been using it for about 8 years and will probably continue to do so since it fills a niche in the market with few competitors, however there are lots of room for improvement.

Pros:

Detailed records and reports available, synergizes nicely with other software.

Cons:

Unpredictable crashes, customer support that are not able to fix issues.

PROCUREMENT

Comments: Nice experience not much issues with it
Job is being done as expected.

Pros:

User Friendly To attached quotes and to escalate for approval with different stage of approval whereby every person is aware of what being procured. Easy to insert prices and suppliers Easy to extract requisition on an excel sheet.

Cons:

The reporting system is not efficient. e.g if I need to extract a report for items procured on a specific work , BS do not have that facility , i wil have to extract a the project items procured and then select the items for the specific job. If this one can be added, BS will be great.

The Best there is

Comments: I enjoy using BuildSmart and would recommend to any construction company.

Pros:

The ease of integrating Candy with the cost in BuildSmart. The different reports that is available and the overall functionality

Cons:

The use of stores is not always conducive to how materials are delivered and used on a site.

Buildsmart Procurement

Comments: Buildsmart has not interacted with end users

Pros:

the interaction with CCS and very little else

Cons:

Buildsmart is not user friendly and is not a complete procurement system for construction. It has no hire purchase order for plant and formwork
