> **Pros**: Over the past several years, our organization has utilized the SUCCESSIONapp program as part of a long term board planning tool. The software app has proven to be quite useful.  As a result, we were able to determine when board members planned to step off the Board, what skill sets would be required in the future and, we had to ask ourselves, how long should one serve as a Board member?   Also the system helped develop and maintain a sustainable and long-term Succession plan that focuses on new ideas, core personal and professional competencies, diversity, which is representative of the credit union membership, and a systematic, staggered timeline to on-board new board members.
