> **Pros**: The best part of NextGen is the ability to customize the templates and documents. With some knowledge of SQL and Crystal Reports, we can get meaningful and actionable reports.

> **Cons**: The recent acquisition by Thoma Bravo led to the culling of many experienced support technicians and has slowed the progress of assimilating NextGen's previous acquisitions, like Medfusion's Patient Portal. Their support seems to have been mostly outsourced to inexperienced technicians in India.

> We have had an interesting and bumpy relationship with NextGen over the years, but we have heavily leveraged our organization's IT infrastructure around NextGen at the core. Despite any warts, the product is functional and has met our needs for over twenty years.

> **Pros**: I like how they have the medical note for the claim linked in the claim. That makes it really easy to see that specific note. The section to leave notes for a specific claim works fine.

> **Cons**: I really dislike the reporting features. Reports are so slow to load and so limited. Posting takebacks is really challenging and the balance is left in the wrong insurance responsibility. I dislike the process of sending and reviewing claims. It is really tedious.

> Nextgen is a software that has what they think are a lot of bells and whistles and it is so challenging to use.
