Good product for money management

5.0 6 years ago

Pros:

This product is perfect for budgeting, managing, and forecasting cost for a construction project. It is also the software I use daily for managing subcontractors and contracts throughout the lifecycle of the construction project. Highly recommend spitfire to anyone in the industry!

Cons:

Spitfire does not offer a lot of support or training for people in the organization who are less tech savvy. It would be helpful to have an FAQ page and some video tutorials.

Comments: Appleton Lathing Corporation is a commercial subcontractor specializing in the Steel Stud/Drywall industry. We also offer services in Acoustic Ceiling, Finished Carpentry, EIFS, and Spray Vapor Barrier installation. Projects we perform range from local community churches to multi-million dollar establishments. We saw areas in our processing of information among the office, field, and our customers that needed increased efficiency and reliability. We needed a document management solution that not only integrated seamlessly with our accounting system but also helped us keep a better handle of real-time work related issues. We drive for efficiency in the field and decided to set that same standard of excellence for our office and field foreman as well. Spitfire software was by far the only software solution that could meet all our needs. We installed Spitfire in 2007 and within one day were up and running. It provides everything a construction business is looking for in project management and they also keep up with the fast changing pace of technology. Spitfire is not only a great product and user-friendly, but the customer service is outstanding as well! Spitfire guided us through every step of the implementation, leading us towards a successful launch, and training us to fully and comfortably take over. Whenever we have questions or needs, we receive answers and solutions in a very timely manner. We are thankful to say we are part of the Spitfire family!

Easy to use

5.0 last year

Pros:

Very easy to navigate and offers callbacks and reminders to pop up automatically.

Cons:

The fact that it can be very costly for each user rather than just providing the pack age for a flat rate.

Comments: Silverman CPM is a true Construction Program Management company. We provide Professional Services as the Owner’s Agent and guide all project participants through each phase of construction. Spitfire has been implemented to better manage the complete business. One area of great value was in the budget / forecasting portion of the integrated system. Once handled by a custom spreadsheet, now all Project Managers use a standard product to better analysis from start to finish. Another area of benefit is ‘collaboration’ with Third-Party Business Partners, to include; Owners, Contractors, Engineers, Architects and other project consultants. Now information is exchanged in a wide range of documents like; Submittals and packages, Drawing logs, Request for Information, Request for Proposal, Change Orders, Meeting Minutes, Contractor Compliance, etc. This provides on-line information exchange and historical records retained which were once accomplished by passing around manual documents in a hand carried fashion, or via courier and FAX. I would recommend it to others in the A/E/C marketplace.

Comments: Our organization includes a large roofing contractor and a solar installer. Since implementing Spitfire Project Management system, we have seen a great return on our investment. From freeing up accounting personnel, to enabling our Project Managers to watch job costs in real time and catch problems proactively - all of this saves the company money. The system is easy to use and dynamic for more than one business. The support team went the extra mile to make sure everything was a fit for our businesses.
