A very positive review on Dentrix impact on dental practice management

5.0 11 months ago

Comments: Overall, it has been a positive experience using Dentrix. It is very user friendly .The financial tools are very beneficial as well. It is an awesome program to be exact!

Pros:

The most awesome thing about Dentrix that was super convenient was Dentrix ledger, it automatically calculates the insurance benefits and patient responsibility as well as patient bills.

Cons:

Only problem I really encountered was occasional glitches' which slowed things down.

Alternatives Considered:

Dentrix reliable and easy to learn.

5.0 last year

Comments: We have been very happy with Dentrix overall - we have outsourced a few areas but other than that - 35 years and going strong!

Pros:

I have been using Dentrix for 35 years and it has grown with the times and always remained easy to use with regular updates.

Cons:

It would really help to have ortho maximums added/ with insurance codes used. Also if a patient is under 14 auto detect the prophy a child prophy. Fluoride has an age in coverage tables / dentrix should auto detect they do or don’t have coverage.

Comments: Great experience, great use of software imaging stored into a comprehensive system.

Pros:

Easy to use and create user accounts, application based system that allows for confidential records to be stored.

Cons:

Would have preferred more interactive training processes (like videos) and "how to dos"

Worst decision

2.0 last year

Comments: Horrible! Was forced to switch from Easy Dental which I have been using since 1986...Sold a bill of goods...have been on the phone for over 20 HOURS!!! trying to get everything to work...told certain documents were an add on to transfer but could still access them in Easy Dental...if I can access them in Easy Dental why couldn't I have kept that program... [sensitive content hidden] is a monopoly and forcing users to change to Dentrix was a bad idea...tech support is impossible to understand...not to mention the time to wait to speak to a human!! If you have Easy Dental keep it!!!

Pros:

I thought it would be an easy transition from Easy Dental

Cons:

Confusing ...too many clicks to enter data what used to be quick and efficient with Easy Dental is now too time consuming

Dentrix Tech Support is really bad

4.0 8 months ago

Comments: I am not excited of working with Dentrix and might actually consider changing to Denticon that has a much more efficient team to resolve issues and overall less problems.

Pros:

Has all the features for a dental practice

Cons:

Tech support is bad The system doesn’t do what it’s supposed to do, always have issues with dentrix enhanced and sending notifications to patients.

User-Friendly Dental Software

5.0 11 months ago

Pros:

I like mostly the Charting in Dentrix. As a dental assistant of 4 years, it is easy to input the existing restorations, conditions and treatment planning. The graphics of each tooth surfaces are precised. The dental staff as well as the dental provider are comfortable using it.

Cons:

There is nothing I don't like about the product.

Dentrix is a great alternative to Eaglesoft

Great full suite of Dental practice management software.

5.0 4 years ago

Comments: I have been working at another dental office recently that doesn’t use Dentrix and I really realize how user friendly Dentrix is and how complete the software feels. It is organized and easy to complete tasks/charting without duplicating efforts. Dentrix just feels like it makes sense to me and it has a professional and updated look. The software I use at the other office is so much harder to use and takes me twice as long to do anything (maybe because I have so much experience using dentrix?). Dentrix is a complete package of features that link together everything in a patient record.

Pros:

The features and ways this software can help manage patient records, appointments, billing, treatment plans, and communications is limitless. I have worked in offices that utilize Dentrix to its fullest and it is a great tool and keeps everyone on the same page in regulates to patients and treatment etc. You can begin using it for a few things and as you get comfortable the features used can expand. It is pretty flexible for using in small offices or larger offices and with proper training it seems to be great in my experience as a hygienist.

Cons:

It can become a mess if employees don’t understand how to utilize the software properly. If patients aren’t scheduled directly from the recall in their chart then they will show up on recall lists and get notified they are due for an appointment or sometimes they can end up with multiple recalls if not managed correctly when scheduling. If treatment plans aren’t input correctly then scheduling and estimates will be inaccurate.

Customer service is Poor. And expensive.

2.0 2 years ago

Comments: They are giving me a pain right now. I have had to upgrade my computers many times to handle their upgrades, and their program is never re written, the program just gets larger each time.

Pros:

very large expensive program, employees find it hard to learn, some even quit. not intuitive. requires a lot of training for new employees.

Cons:

the customer service. they are always sending you offshore, and the techs are not trained. you have to call back a lot to find a competent tech. they don't service you well. For instance, I have called 3 times to upgrade Dentrix software to a more current version. Each time I was told that the person who installs the software has gone home. On Today's call, the person answering the phone said that the installer had gone home. It is the 4th time I have called, and I asked why he has gone home since it is only 2:30 PM in the afternoon. The representative said he only installs Dentrix updates Monday-Thursday 5AM - 2 PM and Fridays 5AM to 1 PM! I am so angry because had any of the other people answering the phones told me this, I would have known when to call back! This is terrible customer service! Do they only have one person installing Dentrix updates? I am so upset that I drove to the office on a day off specifically to install this update, at 2:30 pm AND THE INSTALLER HAS GONE HOME AGAIN! What the heck is going on? I also scheduled a call from the installer and never got a call back. This is really Mickey Mouse for a company that is supposed to be the biggest and the best. I am really beginning to regret working with Dentrix.

Dentrix review

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Dentrix makes managing all aspects of a dental practice convenient and easy

Pros:

This is by far the best dental management software I have personalky used. Everything is easy to navigate, there is not a task that I have encountered that Dentrix was not capable of, customer support is always helpful

Cons:

The only flaw I have found is with treatment planning, I do think I need a tutorial but I can never get the computer figures to match the figures we come up with

Thanks Dentrix

5.0 4 years ago

Comments: Since I have not studied other systems, I don't know what I am missing.

Pros:

I have used another software years ago, switched to Dentrix and am glad I did. They are always adding new, improved modules to their system. Keep up the good works.

Cons:

I know we don't use near all of the bells and whistles of this product. Need to have easy way to integrate new features without hiring a consultant.

Dentrix, Is it worth the investment?

4.0 3 years ago

Comments: I prefer this software to Eaglesoft, and Practiceworks by far for it's overall ease of use.

Pros:

Easy to use even for computer novices. Even our senior staff members were able to adapt easily to this.

Cons:

This software needs more checks and balances to make sure charting, notes, etc. are entered for office visits.

Non working issues, not resolved for 16 months plus.

1.0 2 years ago

Comments: They never have the answers, never have a manager on staff, and when they do they have limited or no capacity to access your account issues.

Pros:

I would like if it worked. But, it does not. I have had to close each month manually for more than a year and a half, costing my office hours of time and loss of production. When I brought the issue to escalations last February, it died there and [SENSITIVE CONTENT] has still not called me back to resolve this issue.

Cons:

Nonexistent customer support. Not one staff member has access to a supervisor. Names are taken and nothing is ever resolved.

Command center of our practice, has made our lives exponentially easier!

5.0 7 years ago

Comments: This functions as our command center for the office, it streamlines documentation, scheduling, collecting payment, confirming appointments, running reports, ect, There is not much that this program does not seem to be able to do.

Pros:

The ease of scheduling, blocking in the schedule, access to patient records, the plethora of informative reports, the easy to use and fairly intuitive layout, customization, The ability to add and edit templates in chart module. I honestly could not imagine running the office without this program. I have had several employees say that they prefer Dentrix over any other practice management software they have used.

Cons:

Sometimes the modules can lag (could be our system as well, but I have a feeling it is the program for the most part), the lack of quick update releases, the lack of adopting and implementing features that have been being asked, recommended, or outright begged for on the Dentrix My voice.

Easy to use System - Be prepared for extra cost for additional functionality

4.0 7 years ago

Comments: Overall, it has been a good system for us. We have had issues, however, support has walked us through it. I recommend having an IT person help with implementation...i set it all up on my own and it worked because i know tech, but it was not a fun experience.

Pros:

Easy to use, staff picked it up quickly, Works well with other software(once a bridge is purchased), Good support group/customer service.

Cons:

They nickel and dime you for new added features, If you want to link to any other hardware/software you need to purchase a bridge or link.

Easy to Navigate

5.0 6 years ago

Comments: Overall dentrix met all expectations and standards for a dental office

Pros:

I liked how easy it was to navigate through the different features of this software. ie: going from charting to X-ray images. I also liked how it was easy to learn because I used a different software at my other office. Within a couple days I was getting the hang of it.

Cons:

Took a bit long to load after you close the program. It is better to have a fast computer/server

Dentrix is the standard in Dental Practice Management Software, but you have to wonder why.

4.0 7 years ago

Comments: All the features that you'd want in a dental practice management software

Pros:

All of the features you'd expect are there, and their eSync app adds a lot of additional services that you can use. Also, there's not much of a training curve to this software - it's generally easy to use and easy for the staff to figure out.

Cons:

It can be bogged down by slowness which requires a bunch of troubleshooting, since the software itself seems poorly designed. Also, if you aren't on the latest version then the database isn't encrypted with a unique passphrase, so if you are using it or want to use it, you'll want to get the newest version. I feel that this software is very expensive, like any name-brand service. You're better off shopping around.

Easiest Dental Software

5.0 6 years ago

Pros:

It is easy to use and treatment plan. Other dental software looks tacky while the patient treatment slide shows are more sophisticated. Scheduling is easy along with making recall appointments as soon as completing the current appointment.

Cons:

There is constant notification to update and it is not as user friendly as other softwares.

7+ Year Dentrix User

5.0 5 years ago

Comments: Overall it's a great product. In talking with other offices that don't use Dentrix, I feel that we have the better product.

Pros:

I have only used Dentrix in my office, it was in place when I started. It was a lot to learn, but once I got in to and took some training, it all fell in to place and was easy to maneuver between the appointment book, office manager and ledger, etc.

Cons:

There is a lot to Dentrix and I'm probably not even scratching the surface on all that it has available. However, some things are not included and then you have an extra fee to add that on. When we are on a limited budget we have to pick and choose the things that will add the most value for our office.
