Zoom has removed the burden of distance

5.0 2 weeks ago New

Comments: I started working with Zoom during the pandemic when I was a lab research assistant and we needed to have several meetings. Zoom made it so easy and kept our workflow smooth. We could easily work on several projects together. I have continued to use Zoom as a freelancer for meetings and tutoring and also job interviews and have never been disappointed. I also like the breakout rooms feature that make it possible to have multiple separate meetings in a group discussion.

Pros:

I love how Zoom has made being in more than one place at the same time so easy. Clear communication, high quality video and audio and ease of screensharing are other features that I appreciate. The light adjustment is amazing. I don't need to worry about having an external light source. I also like all the background options that create a nice setting and also protect your privacy.

Cons:

There is a cap on the number of attendees for free Zoom which is understandable. I haven't had any significant problem with Zoom.

Not a better video conferencing tool out there in my opinion

5.0 2 months ago New

Comments: I believe it’s a really useful tool and one I’ll definitely continue to use in the future, especially for meetings with large numbers of people on. The layouts and functions make meetings of a large size easy to use.

Pros:

Works seamlessly on a video call, especially in comparison to other platforms and the chat function is easy to use and well laid out.

Cons:

Scheduling and settings of individual meetings can be a bit clunky and often involves the need to go on the web browser rather than doing everything from the app.

Good but would Google Meet work the same for you?

5.0 2 months ago New

Comments: I don't love the Zoom website where your information is stored and where you toggle items on and off. I don't think its user friendly. You also need a new license for each person who wants to be on your zoom account. This can be costly. I need my administrative assistant to have access to be able to provide zoom links on meetings but of course its an extra cost. So I just have her create the meeting and I add the zoom link later.

Pros:

Easy to use and integrates easily with Google email to add Zoom links easily to calendar invites. I like the polls you can integrate into the meetings.

Cons:

Google Meet looks to have the same meeting features but it's free. There seem to be a lot of things you can do on the Zoom platform, but if you just want to meet with clients, just use the free Google Meet that comes with a Gmail Account.

Good program

3.0 5 months ago

Comments: At one point I was holding a meeting with the entire family and we were talking remotely in a meeting room. My experience with the program was the most during the Corona crisis.

Pros:

I liked the direct call feature in meetings during Corona. It was very useful.

Cons:

In many meetings, there was a specific time for the meeting, and the meeting had to be closed to get us out of the meeting because the allotted time had ended. It was a bad thing.

Good for Phones

5.0 4 months ago

Pros:

Zoom Workplace is convenient as a receptionist accepting and transferring calls all day every day. I am able to specify whether I'd like to send to their extension vs. cell and can send directly to voicemail if I know that person is unavailable. We are able to set up multiple call queues to customize a "chain of command"; if a call is missed at one location, it will roll over to the next person. The person who missed the call can still see that it was missed, where it came from, and who accepted it, making it easy to follow up if needed.

Cons:

- We recently switched from Webex/Cisco... a) Because of this, my Cisco headset is no longer compatible with this program. Rather than picking up my headset to accept a call the way I would a phone receiver, I must click the screen to answer a call. I imagine this would be remedied with a different device, but it honestly has not bothered me enough to pursue. And even then, you can customize Zoom to have a smaller pop-up menu you can move anywhere on your screen to make accepting calls easier. b) Comparatively, the chat "SMS" feature is not as convenient. It's located in a different tab so using Zoom for both chat and phone all day would require clicking back and forth between the tabs.

Zoom Workplace: Strong Connector for Remote Work

5.0 5 months ago

Comments: Very positive experience with Zoom Workplace and it's a product I use every day. I use it for anything from casual workplace calls to recorded webinar-style conversations and everything in-between. it's easy to access, use the features, and conduct business virtually with very few hiccups.

Pros:

The interface is easy-to-use and everything is self-explanatory. The cost is pretty low and it isn't a huge program that slows your computer down when it's running.

Cons:

Not as much a negative on Zoom but if your connection is bad, Zoom is pretty close to unusable. You have to ensure you have a strong connection to make sure the call and features work seamlessly.

Zoom Review

5.0 11 months ago

Comments: I believe Zoom is the #1 platform when it comes to video conference. Not only it lets you talk in real time with colleagues but also has other built-in features that are extremely useful to review previous meetings and make conversations a bit more dynamic.

Pros:

The features I most like about Zoom are its screen recording and sharing capabilities.I record a lot of tutorials and share screen recordings with my colleagues and during video presentations I love that I can screen share so others can view my presentations in a very dynamic way.

Cons:

Zoom is great in every aspect but if I had to choose a feature I liked the least it would be the chat. It's a bit traditional-looking and I can't send multimedia messages through it, which sometimes it would be helpful during meetings.

Zoom Workplace

4.0 2 weeks ago New

Comments: Works great for hosting individual and group meetings, and makes recording calls and integrations easy. AI tools need improvement to add real value to the workflow and recall.

Pros:

Easy to use. Most people are familiar with it. Lots of integrations.

Cons:

Phone service is not super user friendly for integrations. AI summaries are not the best. Other platforms do a much better job getting at the heart of the conversations.
