About Hubstaff
Hubstaff has trusted time tracking and employee monitoring for remote and field teams. Scheduling, invoicing, reporting, payroll, more.
It is very easy to use at daily work for companies. Great Chrome extension, just one click to start tracking time.
There's no payroll integration with Payoneer. It's tough to do payroll with limited options.

The best solution for integrated task management and thorough time tracking and reporting.
Comments: Very happy I moved from Time Doctor to Hubstaff. Huge improvements on all areas and a satisfying product to use. The experience is so good that I find myself wanting to stay with Hubstaff regardless of whether my need for time tracking reduces.
Pros:
- Integrated Task Management platform (Hubstaff Tasks) allows for agile style task management that feeds appropriate tasks to user's timers. - Nice user interface - Good reporting functions - Thorough tracking options - Client/project budgets - Very good Customer Support
Cons:
- I discovered some bugs during usage (which the developers have ironed out) - Time off / holiday allowance policy function is a great addition, but doesn't allow enough granularity as decimals of hours (or minutes) can't be used.

Hey Ewan, hope all is well with you and thank you for the kind words. You can now request time off exactly down to the minute. Cheers!

Using Hubstaff for 5 years more. Seem it has improved!
Comments: Really just fine. What more should I look for as a freelancer who just need to track time for a project. Then send a a simple invoice at the end. As far as I'm concerned, I have a good experience with the app. If I have to suggest, maybe as a UX/UI Designer, they can enhance the looks an feel of the software to make it more professional and appealing to users.
Pros:
Straightforward. Just the thing you need, you'll find it. Pretty much like any other time tracking software - as freelancer it has screen capture, invoicing, offline tracking and all...
Cons:
It's just straight forward. Maybe they can add quick chat for client. Instead of additional login to browser when you need to quick communicate with your client.

Your Asset when it comes to time tracking
Comments: Very good. Easy to use and definitely a tool I will keep using in the future.
Pros:
The best feature of HUbstaff is how easy it is to add projects and assign someone to track them. We bill our clients for example 200 hours of design and resource management and Hubstaff has been our go-to for tracking this time for our invoicing. It's also a really lovely reporting feature where you can easily switch between per project and per member to track the resources effectively.
Cons:
The timesheets have an error with the buttons that need to be fixed. I have contacted support before, but I have never once received feedback from Hubstaff support. So definitely zero stars for their support structure.
Esther
Way too complicated/complex.
Comments: Time-consuming. It's just an extra job to do.
Pros:
I don't like anything about it. It's aimed at management/HR/payroll which means it's too complicated for other staff to navigate.
Cons:
Everything is way too over-complicated, too many things to choose from, titles irrelevant to me, adds seconds to my timesheets but we have to correct this by removing them so why have them there in the first place - I don't get paid by the second! Needs to be SIMPLIFIED to suit the users' needs. It has basically created extra work.

Hubstaff User Experience
Comments: As a user of Hubstaff, I can confidently say that it has made a significant impact on my remote team's work processes. The time tracking feature has allowed me to get a better understanding of each team member's workload and dedication to different tasks, which has helped us optimize our work processes and improve overall productivity. Additionally, the project management features in Hubstaff have made it easier for me to keep track of tasks, set due dates, and monitor progress, resulting in smoother and more organized work processes. The mobile app has also been a game changer for us, allowing us to be more flexible and work from anywhere without sacrificing productivity. The comprehensive reporting features have provided me with valuable insights into my team's performance, allowing me to make informed decisions and measure the impact of our work processes.Furthermore, the customer support team at Hubstaff has been incredibly helpful in assisting me with any questions or issues that I have had. They are knowledgeable and always quick to respond, making my experience using the software even better. Overall, I am incredibly satisfied with the impact that Hubstaff has had on my team and I would highly recommend it to any remote team looking for a comprehensive time tracking and project management tool.
Pros:
I am impressed with the impact Hubstaff has had on my remote team's work processes. The time tracking feature has helped me understand the amount of time each team member dedicates to tasks, leading to optimized work processes and improved productivity. The project management features have made it easier to track tasks, set deadlines, and monitor progress, resulting in more efficient project completion. The mobile app allows my team to track time and manage projects on the go, making us more flexible. The reporting features provide valuable insights into our team's time and productivity. The excellent customer support team is always available to assist with any questions or issues.
Cons:
As a user of Hubstaff, I have found that the time tracking feature, although incredibly useful for understanding the amount of time each team member dedicates to different tasks, can also be a bit intrusive and distracting. The feature requires constant attention to accurately track time, and this can sometimes take away from the flow of work and create interruptions. Additionally, it can be challenging to remember to start and stop the timer for each task, leading to discrepancies in the recorded time and potentially affecting the accuracy of the data. However, despite these challenges, I do believe that the benefits of the time tracking feature far outweigh the drawbacks and it has been a valuable tool in helping us to optimize our work processes and improve overall productivity.

Excellent Monitoring Tool for Employee Working Remotely
Comments: Compared to other time tracking software, HS is not overly cumbersome to use, which is one of the aspects that I appreciate the most about it. Because it does not make heavy use of a computer's resources, a company who seeks employees who have computers that are not very powerful can easily require those employees to use Hubstaff without encountering any complications.
Pros:
The time-tracking and employee monitoring tool Hubstaff is widely considered to be among the best available. Since I started using Hubstaff, tracking the amount of time that employees spend on a project has gotten much simpler for me even if I do most of my work remotely. Even when there is no internet connection, Hubstaff is able to measure productivity and keep track of the time employees spend working.
Cons:
Although Hubstaff is heading in the right path, there are occasions when the notifications do not reach in a timely manner when we utilise Hubstaff with the Chrome extension. In addition, if a user forgets to start the tracking button, Hubstaff ought to offer the user a gentle nudge in the form of a reminder.

Hello, Thank you for providing us with this review of Hubstaff. We are happy to hear that you are satisfied overall with what our platform has to offer. There are already time tracking reminders implemented within both the desktop time tracker and the Chrome extension. For more information about that particular feature, we do have the following time guide on our knowledge base - https://support.hubstaff.com/reminder-track-time-start-timer-desktop-application/

Use for remote time tracking, and if needed, monitoring of remote employee
Comments: Overall very satisfied. For what we looked for and our needs, this fit it and was very easy to start using.
Pros:
The time tracking for departments is a great feature we use. We have many staff that work in multiple roles and this allows them to track how much time in spent on each task. We use this to help determine which departments need more staff when we're doing upcoming hires.
Cons:
The reporting features could be improved. It is a tedious process to create them, but customer service does help, but you're relying on chat or email communication - would be better if they'd set up meetings to review training. Once a report is created, there's very little you can edit on it, mostly meaning when you have new hires or want to change who the report is delivered (emailed) to, you have to create a new report entirely.

Accurately Track Time and Monitor Employee activity levels
Pros:
It allows tracking time, recording screenshots, and monitoring employee activity levels. Much better than what their competitors offer.
Cons:
1) every time when I update Hubstaff or an idle time is detected, the time tracking stops, and it would be often hours later that I realize the time tracking is not running2) Beginners forget to turn on the time tracking several times, and costs huge for the employees

Pros:
I use Hubstaff daily to track my clients, tasks, and invoices. They're always there to help and very easy to work with. 100% recommended for any virtual workers!
Cons:
Sometimes I need to make adjustments to time entered and it won't allow me. But I've found a work around and I'm sure this will be updated soon.

Winning with Hubstaff
Comments: Great experience. Love the company and the staff.
Pros:
We have an overseas team of Filipino employees that are amazing and Hubstaff really helps us with Time and Activity tracking. They are so trustworthy, but it's nice to know that they are actually doing their jobs correctly. The screen capture software enabled us to solve an internal dispute about managing some finances and resulted in one employee being let go and another employee promoted -- all this was verifiable because of the time tracking as well as activity tracking software.
Cons:
I would really like it if more integrations were allowed within the Hubstaff standard program. The functionality for the price should be included.

Lightweight, easy, and effective
Comments: As a time tracking, payment management, and employee monitoring software, Hubstaff does a great job. It does help many companies keep track of their employees and is pretty comprehensive and even fun to use (when you look at it form the browser). Aside from the archaic Windows app, which has many problems, I have no complaints.
Pros:
I've only used Hubstaff for time tracking with my company, I've never used it individually, but I've worked with it with two separate companies so far (as a freelancer), and when comparing it to other time tracking and monitoring tools, I find Hubstaff to be one of the most easy to use and amenable. The thing I like the most is the comprehensive user experience from my end, though I can't speak for admins. As a worker I enjoy being in control and up-to-date with my activity.
Cons:
I would say that working with Hubstaff can get a little pressuring because of the activity system in place. What I mean is that I understand the way they measure activity but I do believe that looking for an activity sign every second can be very daunting, especially when some affiliate companies look for activity percentages higher than 80% for their employees. This forces many freelancers into a burnout trying to achieve these impossible productivity standards. Of course, Hubstaff can't claim responsability for what its users decide to do with it, but since it's fairly understandable that we (as workers) don't necessarily press keys or move the mouse at all times, maybe it would be better if they counted one activity sign every two (2) seconds, for example. Or if they offered ways to take breaks that were a direct part of the software and not something entirely at the discretion of one's employer. Hubstaff is great, but its current system does seem to favor employers more than employees, in my opnion, and this could lead to exploitation. Another thing is that the Windows app really needs an update, it has many bugs and doesn't look well on the UX side. There should be more options, not just an outdated-looking time tracker.

Great for online teams
Comments: Great! It's amazing for the team but needs more options for the manager to be able to easily track employees with whatever variable that is needed.
Pros:
I love how it's so easy to use for any new team member. I can also teach a new manager quickly on how to track those who are below them. It's also great that I am able to calculate pay easily, and see who has been actually performing the least when online.
Cons:
The biggest thing I would love to see is being able to easily check if someone has been adding/modifying their time too much. In the old software that we used, I can easily open a calendar and for each employee, check how many hours was working on the computer, and how many hours were done offline/tracked by the app. I have to go through one by one before actually catching someone who is violating company policies. Another one would be instead of having the checkbox portion of idle time when people have been away from their computer, make it a radio select where they have to choose whether to keep or delete it. This has caused so much confusion with our team when we started, and would greatly help in making sure that their time is logged correctly.

Hello! Thank you for your review. In regards to being able to easily check if members have been editing time manually, we do have a report section dedicated just for that. It is called "Manual Time Edits", and you will be able to see exactly which time was edited manually instead of tracked with the time tracker. As for the idle time features, we would love to here more about your feedback and suggestions. Please feel free to contact us directly at [email protected] and let us know!

Great time tool
Comments: We are a completely remote company, and Hubstaff makes it possible to track our individual time spent on all projects, report on that time, send payments in some cases, and keep a detailed log of work that was completed on tasks.
Pros:
I like the ability to track individual tasks and customize a dashboard on the homepage to show the metrics that are most useful to you, the individual user.
Cons:
The sync with Confluence takes a while to upload tasks into the pop-out timer, and I feel that time is wasted waiting for the update on the timer to occur so I can start tracking time. I also think that the way the timing works per week should be based on the individual user's time zone, and not the company time zone.

Good time tracker for individuals
Comments: I needed more flexibility in specifying date ranges than I had in the previous time tracker I was using, and Hubstaff delivered! It's not perfect--and sometimes it's frustrating--but it's nevertheless indispensable to me.
Pros:
* Apps for OSX, iPhone * Perfect for individuals * Allows reports for customized date range
Cons:
* Website is often confusing: always have to look around to find the right page for creating a customized report * Task durations are only downloadable in hour:minute:second form, which makes it cumbersome if you're importing into a spreadsheet and still need to convert to decimal hours (e.g., convert 1:37:17 to decimal) * Need to enter tasks when setting up a project: can't enter them in the process of entering time. Would be nice to be able to type a task in the dropdown, have the page display an alert ("Do you want to add the task 'Drive to customer site' to the project?"), add the task to the project, and update the drop-down. * Would like the option for more flexibility in manually entering times, e.g., if I'm doing something from 9:00 a.m. to 9:38 a.m., and I realize that I haven't started the timer, give me the option of manually entering 40 minutes before 9:40 a.m., even if it's not yet 9:40. * In general, need more configuration options (see above).

Love me some Hubstaff
Pros:
It has revolutioned the way that we manage our employees. It's amazing to be able to see granularly what they are doing so we can manage them more effectively and have them use their time more productively. Employees waste time, let's face it with Facebook, cell phones, lots of other stuff is distracting them and wasting you the owner ofyour companies time, give them an inch, they will take a mile. Let's keep honest people honest and let them know from the beginning, if they are here to work, they are here to work and not to waste any time!
Cons:
None really, I love it. It has met and exceeded all of my expectations.

My review
Comments: My experience has been fine with Hubstaff. I do wish it integrated with payment processors easier. Our company uses JustWorks, PayPal, etc. to pay employees and they have to manually enter the time from Hubstaff to calculate how much they earn.
Pros:
I like how easy it is to track projects and prove my activity level is high enough. I also like how you can see if your employer tracks URLs, apps, or Screenshots in case something sensitive is on there (for example, a screenshot of you talking about someone else at the company or bank password).
Cons:
I do not like the UI at all on the mac app. It is dated and does not even show the start button if the window is too small. I also do not like the idea of tracking URLs, apps, and screenshots, though I understand why a company would want to. I prefer review of an employee be done upon their performance on what they should be doing and trust them with the rest. Although if an employee breaks their trust, then I understand tracking them more.
Hubstaff Response
Hey Daniel, great points. We also believe in trust and don't recommend an employer solely depend on Hubstaff to measure performance. Nothing can replace open communication and thoughtful feedback, so activity scores alone and other tracking measurements should be a piece of a larger system of evaluation of performance.

Make remote work possible with Hubstaff
Comments: My organization is trying to reduce cost by letting employees work remotely. This is also to allow us to hire talent not just from our country but to all parts of the world as well. Through Hubstaff, it makes managing people easier because there is transparency. Hubstaff's ability to track time, measure activity level and take screenshots of what the workers are actually doing have helped us achieve our business goals.
Pros:
At first I thought it would be impossible to work with a group of people living from different parts of the country. But through Hubstaff, it allowed me to manage these people with the Task Management tool, easily and accurately measure their productivity level, and at the same time, see what they have been working on with the Screen Capture feature.
Cons:
My only concern with Hubstaff, or any product for that matter, is the cost. Everything that offers good quality service really comes at a price, and I think Hubstaff has given me that. My organization has been using Hubstaff for over 3 years now and we are still and will continue to use it for years to come.

It does the Job, and does not interrupt
Comments: It's great, just the right tool for the job, and I barely feel that I'm being monitored, it takes your mind of that and just gives you enough space to focus on your work.
Pros:
* It's a great productivity tool to have for a company who want's to manage their employee activity tracking with ease. * Easy to setup specifically in the employee's side. * Does not require much resource, you'll barely feel it running on the background even though it takes screenshot of your desktop by the minute, so you'll never get interrupted by it. * Accurate activity & time tracking * Smart features, like when an employee is inactive for a certain amount of time, it will pop-up a prompt informing the employee that he/she is already inactive, when you get disconnected from the internet it will still resume time tracking, but the activity tracking will halt and it will sync back once your connected again. * Frequent updates, which in turn addresses any existing bug in the software. * Cross platform
Cons:
* An occasional automatic-stop-time issue, it rarely happens, but when it does, it's a huge hassle. * Automatic logging out issues, these are knit-picked issues really, and future users might not experience this anymore due to frequent updates done by the hubstaff dev team.

Hubstaff is a great product
Comments: Overall, Hubstaff is a great product. I have looked at several other timers and time-tracking utilities, but keep using Hubstaff because of the ease in setting up small projects. I would definitely recommend it to others.
Pros:
The desktop widget timer is great, and I can create a project and get to working on it with minimal fuss. This is great for small ad hoc projects that require only a few hours of work.
Cons:
It is difficult to see how much total time an individual has worked on a specific project. Ideally, you could select a project and an employee and see the total time that person worked. Also, the "custom" timeframe capability using the calendars doesn't seem to work properly when selecting dates for a report.

Simple, accurate work time tracking software for growing businesses
Comments: - very happy with the subscription and would like to refer to other companies.
Pros:
- easy to use - setup is not difficult specially while onboarding new person in the team - client setup and reporting is great - different kind of reports are very helpful - there are payment integration software but bring more like i can transfer directly from my bank account.
Cons:
- need multiple hours so billing and paying hours could be in different currency. specially when paying country is different then developer's team country - time off (leave) period should be dynamic . like here we consider financial year so we didn't consider from Jan - Dec instead we consider April - March - lower activity: report should exclude time below any percentage. at the moment doing it manually and it is very tedious task.

The best time tracking platform out there
Comments: It saves me so much time and allows me to easily check work product progress for my staff and partner consultants who work a state a way or across the world. It also allow me to be completely mobile when I need to be and allows the same for my staff/partners.
Pros:
Hubstaff is, hands down, the best time tracking platform on the market. My business would not function efficiently without it, and I honestly wouldn't be able to be as mobile as I am without it. My business model depends upon collaborations and Hubstaff makes that possible for me with very little time spent on administration. You simply can't beat the cost for what you get!
Cons:
While Hubstaff is brilliant at what it does, I haven't upgraded to their premium account because I find the payroll and billing to lack the flexibility I need to work well. For example, it doesn't allow me to write-in a description of activities accomplished on the billing, which some of my clients require. So I'm stuck using other platforms for that. Also, there's so much potential in their task system to replace other project management platforms, but it's not there yet.
