Pros:

SimplePractice is so easy to use and the customer service is wonderful & quick.

Cons:

The one feature I have been having trouble with is regarding the recent update adding Couple profiles.

Great easy to use software

Like the name states. It was simple to learn and to use.

Cons:

Took a while to set up . Otherwise it was great.

Good "Off The Shelf"

Comments: Easy for administrative and practitioner use; intuitive for clients; less engaged in seeking out maximum coverage for clients.

Pros:

Ease of use for the client to enter and update info. Also straightforward for administrative use related to billing and scheduling.

Cons:

The nature of highly customizable tools sometimes comes with the extra work of identifying the settings that need to be adjusted to pull the desired data. For example, billing dates defaulting to the last billing period as opposed to client history. Also not as proactive in pursuing insurance coverage for clients.

Comments: I like counsol.com better because of its ease of use

It’s very thorough. Lots of detailed notes options

Cons:

Not very user friendly. More complicated than Counsol

Comments: It was a fair experience but I promptly left after concerns regarding the ownership of data.

Pros:

All of the features that were available and the ability to host a group private practice with the software.

Cons:

The cost of the product, not being able to customize the forms, and the lack of control and ownership of the data.

Comments: My experience was brief bc I found another company that did not charge for another person to sign on.

Pros:

It is intuitive and there is alot of support.

When I hired a billing person, there was a cost increase to have 2 people sign on.

Mental Health EMR that has work to improve

Comments: Our experience has been on a down, up, and down trajectory. It was sold to the practice owner, who is not technical in IT, as a HIPPA compliant telemedicine app. It was sold but never setup correctly, and almost put us out of business, claims were getting denied at a very high rate, and copays were not being collected. Because the app was not setup, all of it resulted in loss collections. The reports are garbage, so we did not know until well after the damage had been done.
Now, as I am trying to integrate it with our accounting system (Quick Books Online), I can't get past the tier one support team, who keeps closing my request as solve, after providing work arounds that do not address the problems.
I would like to see SimplePractice take their user community's recommendations more seriously. It will only improve the software.

Pros:

The telemedicine virtual visits are awesome!

Cons:

Simple Practice is awful at reporting. The built in reports miss the market, and they will not allow users to create their own custom reports.

Too expensive

Comments: I was frustrated with the lack of calendar syncing, and the price, and ultimately chose a different platform.

Pros:

Interface was nice looking, multiple options for client reminders

Cons:

The price!!! It felt like highway robbery paying extra for features that other platforms include in their much lower price. Especially calendar syncing.

Outstanding product at an affordable price

Comments: Initially hesitant to adopt SimplePractice, I was accustomed to and comfortable with another EHR system. However, upon making the transition and familiarizing myself with the platform's navigation, the evident ease of use quickly became apparent.

Pros:

I spend significantly less on this software compared to a similar product I used before. It's user-friendly, and the customer support team responds promptly to my inquiries.

Cons:

The current system lacks user-friendly features that would facilitate a smooth document submission process.

Great get started product

Comments: I recommend this product to anyone starting off with their business. It is a good resource for a thriving business as well. But when starting off everything is so overwhelming, yet Simple Practice makes it smooth and stress free.

Pros:

I love how it has all that I needed to get my coaching business started. Easy set up of appointments and billing options. Very easy. Very helpful when feeling overwhelmed with starting a business up and running. I have gone from a brand new business to a thriving coaching business with the help and ease of Simple practice. It links into my apple calendar and my google calendar. It sends a reminder and link to my client. The billing system is smooth.

Cons:

I have had a few glitches with the reminder app. Sometimes the extra features are not translated from the phone app to the overall system.

Simple Practice lives up to its name!

Comments: They have everything that I needed to get my therapy practice up and running, and feel confident about growing my practice from there.

Pros:

I like that Simple Practice has all of the features that any mental health practice would need, and it can be as simple or detailed as the user likes.

Cons:

Maybe the only downside would be that if I do want to get more detailed with income charts or expense reports, things like that, maybe there might be a small learning curve, but definitely a doable one.

Simple says it all, easy to set up for solo providers

Comments: Simple Practice is fundamental and ideally suited for small practices not credentialed with insurance companies. It excels for solo providers, offering numerous features that many EHRs typically charge extra for, all while being highly affordable.

Pros:

Simple Practice is straightforward and user-friendly. Its setup is convenient, reducing unnecessary stress and simplifying error correction. Therapists may find it particularly beneficial, especially if they provide super billing or accept private payments.

Cons:

Accidentally deleting items can be problematic, especially when in a rush or with patients waiting, as retrieval can be difficult. The calendar system would benefit from improved templates to reduce the need for manual input, which currently creates excessive administrative time. The ability to apply changes all at once, rather than individually, would also be advantageous.

Pros:

What I liked most about Simple Practice is the support team. They answered any questions and the setup process. It was pretty simple.

Cons:

What I like least about Simple Practice Is the clearing house. In February we had a major breach it was hard to see payments and ERA.

Comments: Horrible. Feel conned and ripped off. Now that I have many patients and am paying a biller and ever increasing fees to Luminello I feel trapped and am trying to search for anther EMR with prescribing and billing.

Pros:

only feature - it helped me set up e prescribing.

Cons:

No lab integration possible for solo telepsychiatry Added billing fees are exorbitant. Worst off 30% or more of claims submitted through APEX/Luminello are rejected. No support or guidance.

Comments: Overall, I loved SimplePractice and wish I could go back to it.

Pros:

The ease of editing all assessments, notes, treatment plans, etc was FANTASTIC. I also loved how easy it was to adjust appointments in the calendar, send documents to clients, and so much more.

Cons:

The billing became a problem for the group practice I was working at. It was also a problem to have more than one contact on a client profile which was challenging for working with children. I believe this may have been fixed since I left that agency.

Not Simple at all and not worth the time or money

Comments: It was horrible. I lost an entire year of income trying to figure out the billing features. I had two other colleagues who had the same experience I did and they left simple practice as well.

Pros:

In theory the features that simple practice offers are great. You can schedule patients, use it for med records, and billing.

Cons:

Using the features is impossible! I had simple practice for several years and the billing was always messed up, plus it’s very expensive if you have a certain number of claims. If a patient has multiple coverages it is very hard to manage. I could never use the invoices feature because the billing was always incorrect which made the invoices all incorrect. The documents and forms were too difficult to figure out. The only feature that worked well and was easy to use was scheduling. I finally found a different software that was much easier.

Comments: I found the admin side was too time consuming.
Some of the reports were lacking.
No cancelation emails are sent out to clients which is not good.

Pros:

As a new user i found Simple Practice easy to navigate. Its a good comprehensive tool for healthcare management offering many features. It has helpful customer service.

Cons:

The pricing is too high. The invoicing was not that good. Its not for company's its good for solo providers.
